Job Summary 

The Customer Application Engineer will be a key player in bridging the gap between our R&D team, production, and customers in the aluminum industry. This role involves collaborating on new product development tailored to aluminum applications, engaging with customers to understand their needs, aligning R&D and production efforts with industrial manufacturing processes, actively prospecting new customers, expanding into new markets, and representing our company at industry events. The ideal candidate will have a technically proficient in metals with strong communication skills and a passion for promoting innovative solutions.

Responsibilities 

• Customer Interaction: Engage with customers to understand their technical needs, provide adequate data, and offer tailored solutions to address their challenges.
• Technical Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact between customers and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment of expectations.
• R&D and Production Alignment: Work closely with R&D and production teams to align product development with industrialization, customer requirements and ensuring seamless integration from design to manufacturing.
• Event Representation: Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote our product portfolio, network with potential customers, and stay updated on market trends.
• New Product Introduction: Collaborate with the R&D team to design, develop, and test new products and ideas ensuring alignment with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Product Promotion: Develop and deliver compelling presentations, technical documentation, and marketing materials to showcase our products’ capabilities.
• Customer Support: Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to ensure customer satisfaction and successful product implementation.
  
  
  

Qualifications 

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree in a metals-related discipline preferred but not required.
• Strong technical knowledge of metals production, processing, and applications (e.g., steel, aluminum, alloys, casting, forging, or heat treatment).
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in metallurgical engineering, materials science, or project management are a plus.

Location & Travel
This position is based in Issoire, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France.

Travel: Willingness to travel (up to 50%) for customer meetings, site visits, and industry events.
