Industrial IT Lead

Job Summary:

The Industrial IT Lead will be responsible for the daily operational planning, organizing, and executing all OT functions at the location. This includes managing OT operations to meet customer requirements, collaborating with cross-functional operational teams in areas such as maintenance and automation, supporting and maintaining existing applications, and providing guidance to cross-functional teams while building solutions related to IT/OT operations.  This position will focus on local operations and plant capabilities.

 

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of IT and OT principles and be able to effectively guide a team to apply industry best practices to the array of legacy and modern operational technology architectures and technologies. They will utilize tools of the trade while providing leadership to the group and working collectively with IT/OT operational members.

This role will proactively collaborate effectively on solutions and priorities by working closely with peers across the global IT organization in infrastructure, cybersecurity, and applications, as well as operational business partners.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all plant policies and practices to meet safety, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Ensure good housekeeping of all work areas.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of a team of technical experts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure assignments are completed by established guidelines and advice on conflicting priorities across Cross-functional teams.
  • Support the immediate and short-range needs through proper and efficient utilization of direct and cross-functional resources.
  • Understands the overall organizational vision and collaborates with management to set team goals that translate into actionable plans at the team level.  Adapts and executes plans and priorities based on established strategies and objectives.
  • Analyzes complex business needs presented by the user community and/or clients and recommends technical solutions.
  • Recommend, develop, organize, and communicate OT roadmaps and contribute to IT and Applications roadmaps for local operations.
  • Manage daily tasks associated with project and end-user support and set priorities for the team.
  • Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions.
  • Incorporates and enforces regional and global standards into local operational standards, policies, and work instructions.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify technology needs and opportunities. Works with internal IT/OT groups to provide effective solutions to address business needs.
  • Assesses and identifies technology needs and opportunities, recommending enhancements, upgrades, or replacements. Continuously seeks opportunities to optimize processes and workflows.
  • Assists in developing and managing the department budget, tracking expenses, and ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet business requirements.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, in a related field or an equivalent degree.
  • 6+ years of diversified experience in IT and OT, preferably supporting a larger manufacturing facility and in a matrix organization with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with OT infrastructure required.
  • Experience with Industrial Protocols and terminology such as SCADA, MODBUS, OPC, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Latterlogic.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Must be experienced with developing presentation material for planning, training, and FEL’s processes.
  • Able to build strong, credible relationships with strategic partners and suppliers
  • Knowledge of most major programming languages, network operation, computer hardware, and operating systems
  • Experience with project planning and project management a plus

 

About Constellium Muscle Shoals:   

Constellium Muscle Shoals is a major aluminum sheet supplier for the packaging and automotive markets. The plant has ~1,200 employees and more than 100 acres under room, including five casting units, hot and cold rolling mills, and a slitting and finishing center. Muscle Shoals produces aluminum sheet for use in all three components of beverage cans (body stock, coated end stock, tab stock) and has the capacity to produce over 1 billion pounds per year of finished aluminum coils. The plant also produces aluminum automotive coils to be processed at our CALP line in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Muscle Shoals’ world-class recycling center is able to recycle the equivalent of 20 billion aluminum cans per year.
