Job Summary
With a Safety-First mindset, be responsible for supporting purchasing activities to achieve cost targets and working capital targets for assigned commodity groups and strategic projects, and management of the supply base. Requires a high degree of professional integrity, ethics, and confidentiality.
Primary Purpose
- Supports the strategic purchasing activities throughout business unit.
- Develops an understanding of existing supply base to facilitate the day-to-day management of commercial matters.
- Facilitate onboarding process for new contractors and suppliers.
- Manage MRO inventory stock levels and ensure that orders are placed in a timely manner.
- Participates in cross-functional and continuous improvement activities.
- Data gathering, analysis, and report preparation as required.
- Execution of assigned purchasing projects.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers that match our needs for quality, price and reliability
Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external customers.
- Respects plant and company ethical values and policies in dealing with suppliers and customers.
- Negotiates innovative solutions to mitigate problems and generate opportunities.
- Management of the 3-way match process (Purchase Orders, Receipts, Invoices)
- Expediting of orders and shipments
- Manage supply of MRO inventory stock items to the plants

Provide support to internal and external customers as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; Associates degree and/or Certification in Supply Chain Management considered.
- Requires 2+ years of experience in purchasing area.
- Must be passionate toward implementing and enhancing the growth and development across all areas of responsibility.
- Absolute commitment to EHS.
- Commitment to best practices developed by Continuous Improvement.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills especially Excel required.
- PLEX experience preferred, working knowledge of ERP systems required.
