Casting Planner / Scheduler
Job Summary: The purpose of this position is to manage the detailed planning and scheduling of work within the respective department. Facilitate priority setting, planned work execution, parts procurement, parts repairs, and outage planning. Building effective schedules based on actual manhours allotted. Building outage schedules with complete understanding of sequencing of work, rental needs, time constraints, and process flow. Documentation is also required for KPI’s, record keeping, PM generation, and follow-ups.
Responsibilities
- Plans work for the crafts with all relevant details including work task lists, technical data, blueprints, manhours needed, and expected outcomes.
- Builds efficient weekly and outage schedules based on priority needs, effective manpower usage, tracks adherence and leads outage progress meetings.
- Coordinates proactively with the Engineering Leader, Engineers, and General Supervisor to maintain critical priorities, plans, and schedules.
- Interacts with outside vendors, contractors, and internal plant resources to facilitate outage work and planned work execution as well as obtain critical supplies and services in a timely manner.
- Maintain work order backlogs, PM records, safety backlogs, planning priorities, and accurate histories
- Track and report critical department KPI Progress
- Builds a library of work task lists for repetitive jobs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field strongly preferred, but extensive experience may be considered in lieu of education
- 10 years of industrial experience in Maintenance or a related profession with a minimum of 5 years at the shop floor level, required
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, required
- Effective time management with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, required
- Strong Planning and Scheduling skills, strongly preferred
- Ability to lead, optimize work processes, and drive desired results, strongly preferred.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing situations, strongly preferred
- Detailed understanding of repair procedures and requirements, preferred
- Effective communication (both written and verbal) with the ability to adapt communication styles to different audiences, preferred
