Inventory Accountant

Job Summary: Provide inventory tracking support for $190 million of inventory.  Perform direct reconciliations and support for outside processor inventory locations as well as on-site inventory.  Provide account reconciliation, support and analysis as it relates to $10-25M of non-inventory balance sheet accounts.  Prepare journal entries for closing.  Prepare and provide monthly inventory reports and outside processing data.  Work closely with Supply Chain on the annual physical inventory and responsible for the roll forward to year-end.  Prepare the inventory reporting as required for the Asset Based Loan (ABL).  Responsible for the inventory data coordination for the ABL audit, inventory appraisal and annual financial audit.  Responsible for SOX controls around inventory tracking and reporting.

 

Perform accounting work as assigned to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting while maintaining SOX compliance.  Ensure compliance with CGAM.  Recognize and resolve account discrepancies by coordinating with internal and external contacts.  Perform financial and operations analysis as requested especially as related to inventory or outside processor activities.  Continually evaluate effectiveness and implement improvements.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the general ledger balance reconciles with the supporting documentation and is validated by the attached supporting documents
  • Ensure that all journal vouchers are complete, accurate and posted on time

Qualifications

  • Required - Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) highly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 - 10 years’ accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
  • Experience with SAP
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with SOX and internal controls
  • Ability to improve processes, reliability, and accuracy
