Metal Control Supervisor

Job Summary:

This position serves as the main link between casting operations and sales orders.  The Metal Control Supervisor coordinates the production plan for the Cast House based on sales orders booked to processed through hot rolling.  This position is responsible for assigning a production slot in the casting schedule for all products to be fabricated in the mill.  In addition to scheduling production, this position manages the metal flow in the Cast House that includes raw materials, additives, and cast ingots.  The Metal Control Supervisor communicates the daily production plan by supplying the material expeditors, assigned to production shifts, with an accurate casting schedule.


Responsibilities

·         Define, adjust, calculate and analyze metal charges

·         Ensure compliance to Constellium policies, procedures, and regulations

·         Provide leadership in Continuous Improvement in their assigned area

·         Controls and documents raw materials and cast ingot inventories

·         Provide the conflict resolution necessary to ensure problems are resolved and corrective action is implemented

·         Assist Supply Chain by providing accurate information about casting production and capacity available

·         Reports daily production and raw materials, additives, and scrap usage

·         Coaches, mentors, and trains the hourly workforce

 

Qualifications

·         5 years’ experience in related industrial environment (preferred)

·         Ability to initiate processes and ideas

·         Ability to multi-task in a face paced, evolving environment

·         Experience with continuous improvement, preferred

·         Possession of Computer skills: Excel, Word, e-mail

·        Capable of calculate material balances

·      Basic chemical knowledge of alloys to understand compatibility and transitions

·      Capable of understanding how to build a charge with available raw materials
