Process Engineer, CPG
Job Summary:
The Process Engineer will optimize performance, maximize material recovery, eliminate process waste, and improve productivity & conversion costs. This is done through engineering and metallurgical solutions, focused improvement projects, and process control. This position works closely in a team environment with other Engineers and managers. This position also supports the quality systems requirement for the coil path and customer quality satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve processes to improve product capability & performance, process efficiency and material recovery.
- Provide Technical expertise & support to daily activities
- Lead and supports Coil Quality projects and activities
- Lead or participate in the investigation, data analysis and implementation of solutions to complex problems involving multiple production centers and technical aspects
- Create opportunities for process improvement and act on those ideas through equipment modification, process improvement, material changes, etc.
- Support the quality systems requirement for the CPG department (internal audits, equipment calibration, MOC, CAR, PFMEA, external audits, etc.)
- Collaborate with Quality Team on claims/ issues that need immediate resolution
Qualifications:
- 5 Years experience in Aluminum rolling or finishing, preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline, strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment required
- Ability to pass pre-employment testing under specific area of discipline, required
- Ability to adapt to a new environment, required
- Effective communication (both written and verbal) with the ability to adapt communication styles to different audiences, preferred
- Effective time management with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines,
Preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft office
