Project Group Leader

Job Summary: The purpose of this job is to manage the planning & execution of all work going through the Project Shop. The incumbent will also facilitate projects within the shop, set priority of work through the shops, tracking materials, ordering parts/ materials, PMs, and record keeping.


Responsibilities:

  • Track equipment backlogs and planning of priority work
  • Generates new pm/s and revision of existing
  • Recordkeeping of performance, repair histories, outage planning, employee time tracking
  • Procure parts, facilitate parts repairs, and monitor parts inventories for accuracy and machine availability
  • Attend outage meetings & develop standard scopes of work for all APU’s

 

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Construction Management or related discipline or 5 years of experience within furnace refractory repairs and construction management
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, required
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing under specific area of discipline, required
  • Willingness to learn, required
  • Ability to adapt to a new environment, required
  • Effective communication (both written and verbal) with the ability to adapt communication styles to different audiences, preferred
  • Effective time management with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, preferred

Dimensions:

  • The scope of the position would be located throughout the entire plant and will be a service provider for all apu’s of the plant.
  • The communications demands will be at the general foreman level and will be across most apu’s, this role also provides leadership in technical aspects such as construction management and refractory repairs.
  • Challenges of the position will be to manage across departments that have a large geographical footprint and keeping the customer’s happy by delivering high quality products to the customers.
