Sr. Project Manager, Casting
Job Summary:
The Ravenswood Cast House is currently undergoing a multi-stage expansion to implement a Casting Future State (CFS) vision. This expansion will improve safety and increase throughput of premium grade aluminum alloys. This initiative includes all aspects of casting from scrap processing to ingot casting including melting, metal treatment, and online quality control using state-of-the-art technology and industry best practices. The primary objective of the individual in this role is to coordinate and lead multiple engineering, maintenance, and production teams to execute and implement the Casting Future State vision with a focus on Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), quality, continuous improvement, manufacturing excellence and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with CFS objectives in terms of EHS, quality, continuous improvement, productivity and maintenance.
- Identify, oversee, and manage an integrated EHS, quality, continuous improvement, and production / maintenance team(s) for the portfolio of projects associated with Casting Future State.
- Sustain effective communications between the EHS, quality, continuous improvement, production, maintenance and engineering team members.
- Requires the ability to identify and resolve both short and long-term problems.
- Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously within the Casting Future State framework.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of experience in a casting environment or 10 years of operating experience in a casting environment, required; advanced degree preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt certification, preferred
- Demonstrated maintenance and/or production and quality team management skills, required.
- Proficient in material handling, drying, and DC casting methods and technologies, required.
- Proficient with typical computer-based software and systems, required.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, required.
