Job Summary

Customer Application Engineers are in charge of promoting and selling the technical value of Constellium products and services.  This is a key role in achieving business targets in terms of market share and contribution margin/EBITDA generation.  These engineers are responsible for technical collaboration with selected customers, which includes identification of customer needs, management of business/product development projects, material qualifications and follow-through to production ramp-up phase. To accomplish this, engineers work closely with the Quality and Manufacturing teams in each A&T plant.  These positions safeguard the company’s technological position in selected business markets and play a key role in growth.

 

Key Responsibilites 

•    Serves as the primary technical contact for Constellium at the assigned customers providing best-in-class technical service.
•    Identifies and establishes working relationships with key customer stakeholders
•    Seeks and develops new opportunities to protect and grow A&T business emphasizing advanced (high value) materials.
•    Develops understanding of customer needs (including unmet or unknown), especially for new programs, in order to identify and promote Constellium solutions or propose new R&D projects.
•    Pilots development of new products from business case through R&D, industrialization (with the plant Quality and Manufacturing teams), usage evaluation by customer, qualification and ramp up of production.
•    Sells the technical value of Constellium products and capabilities making them visible within customer organizations, ensuring targets are met in terms of market share and contribution margin/EBITDA generation.
•    Ensures customer technical satisfaction with Constellium products.
•    Promotes Constellium and its products in the standardization community, through conferences, publications and other means.
•    Stays informed on competitor product developments and investment and their merit, sometimes including non-aluminum material systems.
•    Contributes to broad range of other business topics including quality, finance, legal and intellectual property among others.

 

Qualifications

•    BS Materials Engineering or related field (required).
•    MS or PhD in Materials Engineering or related field (preferred).
•    >5 years of experience in aerospace industry – aluminum, aircraft or space companies (required).
•    Fluent in Mandarin and English.
