Maintenance Technician
Job Summary: Maintenance Technician will be responsible for supporting our Automotive Structures Plant in Van Buren Twp., Michigan. A successful Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and general equipment used at the facility.
Responsibilities
- Day to day coverage of production line equipment: respond to alarms, breakdowns, and Production requests quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime
- Diagnose equipment failures, find the root cause and communicate actions taken to the rest of the team
- Takes initiative to improve PM documents and schedules, under the direction of the maintenance supervisor and leads
- Perform major equipment repairs and rebuilds
- Use manufacturing systems effectively (MES, Spares Inventory, Issue Tracking)
- Work with Process and Equipment engineering and other cross functional groups to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize equipment downtime
- Follow all aspects of Maintenance Safety protocol (LOTO, 5-S, Arc Flash, etc.), to ensure that the maintenance team operates safely at all times, always leading by example
- Recommend countermeasures to prevent repetitive breakdowns
- Organize and maintain a high degree of cleanliness in the maintenance area
- Perform spares inventory audits to ensure accuracy
- Participates in TPM team while taking on small improvement projects to assist in improving the factory
- All other duties assigned necessary to perform the job
Qualifications
- Must have 1 – 3 years’ experience in maintaining applicable manufacturing equipment
- Some college course work preferred
- Have good written and oral communication skills
- Able to work 8-hour shift
- Willingness to work some weekends and holidays as required
- Reliable attendance
- Experience in troubleshooting, programming, and repairing robotics, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding applications and CNC machines
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced and changing environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
