Plant Manager

Job Summary: Provides leadership and direction to all areas of plant operations to ensure that quality products are manufactured in a cost-effective and safe manner. This position is accountable for and sets the vision, direction, and priority for the plant leadership team and manufacturing site. This position reports to the Director of Operations.


Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a safe workplace for all employees. Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive safety program that meets applicable safety regulations and corporate goals. Assure all employees are working safely.
  • Ensure effectiveness of all Management Systems (Quality IATF 16949, Environmental ISO14001, Safety ISO45001, Energy 50001, TISAX), that standards are maintained (retained in the Plex document control system), and all operations are carried out in a consistent, controlled manner.
  • Monitor and Maintain Customer Scorecards that exceed Quality and Delivery thresholds to be a source able supplier. Escalate to the ASNA Team any issues outside of the Plants direct control.
  • Lead the development and submission of the plant annual budget for ASNA approval.
  • Accountable for Profit & Loss performance of the manufacturing site.
  • Ensure that proper (engineered) inventory levels are maintained.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing processes are cost effective.
  • Prioritize, supervise and develop plant leadership team.
  • Develop and effectively implement plant continuous improvement programs and projects.
  • Prioritize employee engagement with all employees at the manufacturing site.
  • Work with all ASNA Plant Managers to standardize and harmonize policies and procedures.
  • Escalate issues to the ASNA Team for support as needed.
  • All other duties assigned and necessary to perform the job.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field, preferred or 15 years of manufacturing environment experience with a high school diploma or GED, required.
  • Previous plant management experience, preferred or work assignments which had a direct reporting relationship to a Plant Manager, required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, required.
  • Experience in aluminum extrusion or Tier 1 automotive supply base and/or new product launch experience, preferred.
  • Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, CQi9, CQi15 and IATF requirements, preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience, preferred.
  • Project Management experience, preferred.
