The Central Digital organization is deploying Industry 4.0 technologies everywhere in the group to create our future world-class manufacturing processes. Within Central Digital, the Digital Solutions team focuses more specifically on hardware (sensors, cameras, PLC, RFID, VR/AR…). 

Job Summary

Support Constellium’s initiative to enhance efficiency in scrap metal purchasing and recycling, and more broadly, to achieve best-in-class performance in metal value management.

Responsibilities

•    Develop tools to support metal procurement in:
Identifying the best opportunities on the scrap market.
Measuring scrap profitability.
Assisting operational teams in running casting equipment at optimal performance.
•    Gain deep understanding of casthouse operations and the needs of all metal stakeholders, including procurement, recycling, casting, downstream production, supply chain, and finance.
•    Translate business requirements into functional application features.
•    Design and develop applications or supervise subcontractors; provide support to internal customers and resolve technical issues.
•    Ensure timely delivery of high-quality applications within agreed budget.

Qualifications

•    A preferred engineering degree in a relevant discipline or proven experience is necessary (data science, computer science).
•    2-4 years of work experience related to digital technologies or activities in the industry.
•    Programming Expertise:
o    Advanced Python (data structures, clean/tested code, GitHub workflow, libraries like pandas, numpy, streamlit, matplotlib, SQLAlchemy, unittest, pulp, requests/httpx).
o    Proficient in Git/GitHub (branches, rebasing, clear commits).
o    Strong SQL knowledge.
o    Good experience with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and REST API (consumption and development; GraphQL is a plus).
•    Technical & Domain Knowledge:
o    Industrial/manufacturing environment experience.
o    Solid mathematical background.
•    Bonus Skills:
o    Metal industry experience.
o    Azure cloud services (Web App, SQL Server, Data Explorer, Data Factory).
o    IIoT technologies (MQTT, IO-Link, LoRa, Node-RED).
o    Traceability solutions (RFID, barcode).

Location

The role is based at our C-TEC facility in Voreppe, France.
